Pin

  • In chess, a pin occurs when an attacking piece attacks a defending piece that cannot move without exposing a more valuable defending piece on its other side.

  • Moving the attacking piece to bring on the pin is called pinning.

  • The defending piece is pinned.

  • You can take advantage of a piece that is pinned (and cannot move) and attack it again!
